Due out come Fall/Winter, these are not exactly your run-of-the-mill footwear, but more comfortable than a typical boot, and a helluva lot of style for a typical sneaker. Love them. Mystified By Womenswear

Lately, womenswear has obviously struck a chord with me. From London Fashion Week comes the following from Burberry and Thom Browne kept the dream alive at New York Fashion Week.

Burberry:

As you're aware, I'm a huge fan of what Christopher Bailey's done with the most famous brand in England. Below is no exception. I thought the collection was incredible. If I only had a girlfriend who owned these skirts and jackets...classy, sexy, timeless...a perfect ménage.

Thom Browne:

He redefined the men's suit as we know it, and he continues to shake up the silhouette in his womenswear. The epitome of exaggeration, is there anything this guy can't do? Check it out:

Billy Reid 2012 RTW

I should probably be starting this entry with an apology for its tardiness. What you see below is Billy Reid's 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection for both men and women that took place a couple of weeks ago at New York Fashion Week. My dear friend, Charles Harbison, was hired last year by Billy Reid for the brand's womenswear, and it should go without saying, I'm extremely excited for him.

I have always admired Billy Reid because he has always stayed true to his roots, and it's great he has maintained his offices in Birmingham, Alabama, which is pretty much unheard of. My description of the Reid man is a modern southern gentlemen, in my opinion. He's fashion conscious, while also being rugged in the I chop wood in the winter sort of way.

The Fall 2012 collection displays muted colors with injections of plaid I felt were a breath of fresh air. From a proportion standpoint, I feel too much shirt/sweater cuff was shown sticking out of the suit jacket sleeves, but you can blame my affinity of traditional tailoring. That said, I enjoyed the overall silhouette of the suiting, and I really favored the double breasted jackets. Though more Tom Ford than Billy Reid, I thought the crocodile duffel was great.

The womenswear really appears quite luxurious. Personally, I think the womenswear designs have certainly elevated the Reid label from its last Fall womenswear collection. Unfortunately, I wasn't at the show, however, the fabrications look amazing and the cuts are certainly modern and chic. I loved the color palette, and when it comes to fashion, I feel the focus should be on the woman. I'm old school in that way. After all, there's a reason we wear subtle-colored tuxedos. This philosophy is certainly evident in Billy Reid's womenswear.

The outerwear was amazing, including the indigo and black belted coat. There was really a nice cohesion with the menswear with the oversized shall collars, as well. Last, but not least, I was pleasantly greeted by the hats, which were the result of collaborating with Albertus Swanepoel. They were very elegant and sporty at the same time. I've said since the age of 16, girls who can drive stick or wear hats, are either hot, cool, or both. Again, I was 16 when making this statement, but you must admit, it's rare you find an ugly bitch of a woman rockin a stylish hat, especially one that's as undeniably cool in its color blocking. Cole Haan Lunargrand

I'm really liking these new Cole Haan Lunargrand wing tip shoes. As of late, we've been seeing a ton of adaptations and combinations of brogue uppers and more casual soles, and they've all been thick and clunky. I've definitely not been a fan of any of them. However, combined with its suede short wing upper, the lunarlon sole from Nike is actually one that seems to be a lot easier on the eyes, and I bet they're quite easy on the feet, as well. There will certainly be an array of colors, guaranteed. Check your local Cole Haan store. ($248)

Hermès Fall/Winter 2012

Runway shows, as aforementioned, are typically just that: shows. It is a chance for designers to completely exhibit their creativity and how it relates to the human body. Couture, obviously, takes that to new levels nearly every season, but with menswear, the approach is quite different.

Very creative menswear shows are typically comprised of clothing with altered/dramatized proportions, unthinkable color and pattern pairings, and at times, overall surprise. However, Hermès is not, has not, and more than likely will never, be known for its crazy pattern pairings, or overt proportions. The French fashion house has been known for understated class for as long as the brand has been in existence. High-priced, fly-under-the-radar, high quality fashion. Sure it has its flagship products (women's bags mostly), and what you see below is and extension of that class.

Though arguably not her best work, I happen to love the latest collection from Véronique Nichanian. Is it somewhat boring? Maybe. Safe? Absolutely. But you know what? Each and every piece that came down the runway exhibits the potential to find its way into my closet, and that's rare to say about any collection. Granted, I'm not sure I would rock a pair of crocodile pants, but still, they're the best/most wearable crocodile pants I believe I've ever seen. I loved the proportions. I loved the fabrications. And I even loved the (minimal) color palette. Less is definitely more, and what you see is certainly what you get. With no need for interpretation, here is the most wearable collection we've seen yet this season:

Just as a head's up, next month J.Crew will be opening The Ludlow Shop, which is a new concept store in the TriBeCa neighborhood of Manhattan. Focused on the brand's Ludlow suit, which was launched three years ago in the same neighborhood at the Liquor Store, the new 2,100 sq. ft. store will also offer J.Crew's line of Thomas Mason shirts, ties, shoes and accessories. Lanvin Fall/Winter 2012

Lanvin's 2012 Fall/Winter collection was good, at best. There were suits and coats that caught my eye, there were colors that weren't typical that I enjoyed, and I especially liked the lapels deriving from traditional pea coats.

The shoulders were oversized throughout the collection, though not enough, in my opinion, especially when we've seen the likes of Thom Browne's collection. Though completely different customers, I feel the proportions needed to be Thom-Browne-exaggerated, or more tailored for me to be into them. Not in-between. Personally, I would've liked the collection a lot more had the tailoring been nipped and tucked. See what you think...

Cole Haan Air Rhone Boot

James Perse for Beagle Freedom Project

LA-based James Perse continues its charitable efforts with its participation in the Beagle Freedom Project.

BFP was started in 2010 by Shannon Keith after learning Beagles were being used for animal experiments in laboratories abroad. The program was designed to not only rescue the dogs, but also get them safely back into the U.S. and offer them up for adoption. James Perse representative, Noah Stone, stated, "James has a Beagle, himself, so his desire to participate in the cause came naturally, as the breed is obviously very near and dear to his heart."

Pictured above is the window display at the James Perse store on Melrose which incorporates 15 of the 41 original crates used to transport the dogs back into the United States from the labs where they were used for tests including medical/pharmaceutical, household products and cosmetics.

Miharayasuhiro's 2012 Fall/Winter collection exhibits a minimalistic approach to menswear while incorporating military inspiration and kimono fabrications. The collection, to me, seems as if it could be divided into thirds: one part Yohji Yamamoto, one part Thom Browne, and one part Burberry. Either way, it makes for an interesting collection. I love many of the jackets in the collection and the cut of the pants might be really cool in person. Check it out:

Thom Browne’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection is one of exaggeration and I love it. What better follow up to this weekend’s football games than a fashion show full of linebacker-esque models that resemble members of the Addam’s Family. Everything about this collection is all exaggerated, and it’s all still wearable. After all, runways are called “shows” for a reason. Another point for Mr. Browne...well done.

Kim Jones recently won the British menswear designer of the year award, and you’ll see why below. Epitomizing luxury, Jones’ sophomore collection for Louis Vuitton takes us back to 1970s Paris with direct inspiration from the party scenes of the decade and Antonio Lopez. I particularly loved all of the blues, as well as the rest of the colors. The shoes and accessories were great, and the tuxedo jacket at the end is amazing. While running errands today, I noticed DF Feet was having a sale, so I ducked in. Though I didn't pick up any new shoes, I did, however, notice a dopp kit on their shelf I'd never seen before. Upon picking it up, I instantaneously recognized it as a new product from KILLSPENCER.

What you see here is a dopp kit, yes, but it also converts by flattening into an Folio/iPad case. Very innovative, and available in Korean War era canvas (shown above & immediately below), cognac nubuck, black leather, and original wax. As a dopp kit, it measures 9.5" x 5.25" x 4" and as a folio, it measures 14" x 9". Another banger from KILLSPENCER, I think it's fair to say you could very possibly never leave home without it. The Nixon Sam at Barney's

Today, I stopped in Barney's where I, oddly enough, sifted through racks alongside Ringo Starr. To my surprise he's a pretty small guy. Anyway, I also came across this military-inspired watch from Nixon, which looks even better in person. With it's canvas band lined with Horween leather, this thing will sure steal a stare or two. It's casual with no shortage of style, obviously. I didn't see it on Nixon's site, so it's perhaps a Barney's exclusive. Get it here. ($250)

Prada's Surprise for Autumn/Winter 2012

Prada's Autumn/Winter show in Italy the other day not only pulled out the stops when it came to overcoats, but they also pulled some celebrity favors, it appears. On the runway were the likes of actors Garrett Hedlund, Alex Carril, Victor Carril, Jamie Bell, Emile Hirsch, Timothy Roth, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, AND Gary Oldman. Now that's some pull.

For me, the jury is still out on many of the pieces, but I liked several of the jackets (Shocker, I know). I'd love to hear what your thoughts are, so feel free to comment.

Moncler Gamme Bleu Autumn/Winter 2012

It's certainly a great time to be a Formula 1 fan. Here's to hoping Senna wins an Oscar and witnessing Thom Browne's latest collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu. Quilted pants, jackets and racing suits are what begins the show comprised of bold reds, whites and yellows, followed by more sidewalk-worthy fashion of grays, plaids, and an interesting adaptation of formalwear. Always one of the most interesting shows, Browne's "Grand Prix" even numbered the models like cars on a track, and I loved his mixture of patters while still maintaining the influence from the racing suits. He creates such an intricate transition while never losing focus of his inspiration. Check out the video below as well as some of my favorite stills.

Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2012

Christopher Bailey continues to make me a bigger and bigger fan of his work with every season it seems. His Autumn/Winter 2012 collection for Burberry Prorsum was spot on. I loved the wide variety of color, though gray was certainly repetitious, and I just love the perpetual modern silhouette of the Prorsum line. Double-vented suits. Jackets with ticket pockets. Totally British, rakish and always respected.

Given Burberry is the outerwear force to be reckon with, I thought Bailey's attention to every other detail was amazing - everything from the umbrellas to the contrasting colors of the hats, from the bags to the gloves that looked like Louboutin Rollerboy Spike shoes made for one's hands - it was all great. I thought it was refreshing to see stripes added to even the classic outerwear pieces. Hell, even when I didn't like something, it still wreaked of luxury, and in the world of fashion, when you're left with that perception, it's something you rarely debate. Witness below:

Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2012

Needless to say, Raf Simons took leather to the next level in his latest collection for Jil Sander at Pitti Uomo. According to WWD, "Simons said backstage he was keen to explore archetypal male clichés: the businessman, the father, the office nerd.” I beg to differ. Though most designers would readily admit they'd prefer not to see their designs worn head to toe, I felt this collection was far more The Matrix than businessman, father, or dare I say office nerd, and the Nine Inch Nails could only back me up, I believe. I digress.

Even through the complete and utter abundance of leather, one must take note of the fit and finish. I mean, Simons' work fits absolutely impeccably. Of course, one would argue it better fit in order to be carrying off cowhide from head to toe, however, when not leather-clad, the suits were great, with a very consistent point of view, and avant garde lapels I really enjoyed. Bottega Veneta Fall/Winter 2012

Contrasting colors on finely tailored suits paired with white shirts with contrasting collars were what started the Bottega Veneta Fall/Winter collection at Pitti Uomo. Many of the models adorned with perfect-width ties were sent down the runway while wearing a new spin on denim, as well as outerwear with intricate details.

Tomas Maier brought old military to the forefront with many of the buttons used, while other pieces were futuristic with contrasting fabrics and asymmetrical zippers. Leather was certainly present, though I could do without the pants. I've always been obsessed with outerwear, and this collection had several pieces I'd be happy to have in my closet. Check it out:

Valentino Fall 2012

It seems there's a little something for everyone in Valentino's Fall 2012 collection. Fresh from Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy, the show was set inside the city’s 16th-century Palazzo Corsini.

Appropriately, there was a plethora of outerwear with a color palette primarily dominated by black. The designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, also injected dark emerald as well as navy and deep burgundy when color blocking.

Some may not think it awe-inspiring, however like most Valentino collections, I considered Fall 2012 to be fueled by understated class, and I loved it. The only miss were the skinny ties used, while many of the hits for me were the leather pieces, which I found incredible. They appeared to be thin, supple and super sleek on the runway. Meanwhile, I also appreciated the silhouettes of the suits and formalwear. The jackets were very modern in length, while the trim pants were crisply cut above sockless shoes. Many of the jackets had contrast trim, and the details, altogether, were hard to beat. Again, par for the course at Valentino. Check it out:

Below is a great documentary on technology and how it's had an effect on culture, and more specifically, art, music and literature. Entitled, PressPausePlay, the film explores how technology has effectively made everyone artists, and it really makes one think - especially after the following comment by Moby: "...if everybody's a musician, and everybody's making mediocre music, eventually the world is just covered with mediocrity...and people start to become comfortable with mediocrity. And that, to me, is the danger." You should take the time to watch the following. It's quite compelling.

"True Love in Pictures" via The Sartorialist

I can't recall ever copying and pasting an entire entry from someone else's blog, and I certainly don't want to make a habit of it. However, Scott Schuman's entry for Tiffany & Co. on The Sartorialist yesterday really struck a chord with me. I felt it was expressed perfectly. And if you read my holiday Gift Guide, you'll know I love the bike, as well. Here it is:

There’s nothing better than working on a project about love with the one you love. A few weeks ago, Garance and I had the opportunity to collaborate on a project capturing ‘true love in pictures‘ for the Tiffany ‘what makes love true’ campaign. It was cool to play with instagram while shooting some of our friends (like Andi & Jordan above) in both Paris and New York.

It was also fun thinking about the small, tender gestures that a couple offers to each other– which are really the fuel that keeps a relationship special. I love that Garance makes my oatmeal for me in the morning while I run out to get our coffee. They’re both just simple small acts but they make life happy.

Hedi Slimane: California Song

Two days ago, I finally made the time to go by MOCA at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood to check out Hedi Slimane's photography exhibit. It's a very unique two-floor display of his black and white photos, and it's very nice that admission is free.

On the first floor, the former Dior Homme designer's images were printed on large pieces of foam core framed in plywood. They're stacked in threes, with the middle "box" containing a mirror. I thought it was a very interesting way to display the images, but quite frankly, I felt the construction cheapened the artistic integrity of the photos.

Upstairs, in a large room with black walls and black carpet, making it very dark, there were large speaker structures comprised of speakers you would have found in houses in the '70s and '80s, held together by metal pipes. Kind of cool, actually. In the middle of the room was a large cube built from floor to ceiling with huge screens on three sides hosting side-by-side images projected from projectors built into the speaker structures. This was a much more interesting way of showcasing Slimane's work, in my eyes.

Over all, I would consider the photos good, though not inspiring. Frankly, I think he has an eye for photography, but I'm much more struck by his work in fashion. I'd really love to see him return. Check out a little of what I saw below:

Beautiful Home in Carpinteria

I came across this house online a little over a week ago. It's in Carpinteria, which is just south of Santa Barbara. I absolutely love its use of glass windows reaching from floor to ceiling, allowing for spectacular views of the ocean. The dark hardwood floors are also incredible, as well as the exterior stone walls spanning from the outside in. I don't think the bedroom below would be such a horrible place to wake up in the morning, either. Anyway, I'll allow the photos to do the talking. Check it out:

I love the nonchalance Mr. Greenfield possesses when he says, "The minute I dress you up, and you go in to meet your first friend for lunch, the first thing he'll ask you is 'Where'd you get the stupid suit? Without legitimate reason, quite frankly, there has been very little mention of Brunello Cucinelli here on Screaming Mouth. However, the Italian company is one for which I have the utmost respect.

Not only does it produce some of the finest garments using fabrics of the highest quality, the community surrounding the company is completely dedicated to Cucinelli's success, and likewise from it to them. Witness for yourself in the video below. It might just queue you to think twice about what name resides on the tag inside the next garment you purchase.

IWC Portofino Chronograph ($5,400)

Some guys scoff at buying an expensive watch reasoning, "My phone has a clock on it." And then there are the John Mayers of the world with watch collections upwards of $20 million. Yes, he arguably has more money than sense, but I happen to be one of the men who envy such a collection. You see, watches have the capability of representing what the Ferrari 250 GT California in Ferris Bueller's Day Off was to Cameron's father. Don't even question it. It's just not worth it. Your time I mean, not the watch. I digress.

Redesigned for 2011, the Portofino Chronograph has been updated with throw-back style. More specifically, the chronograph's start/stop and reset buttons have been made round to resemble the watches from the 1960's, and I absolutely love the change. Offered in three color/band options, I favor the black edition with its stainless steel case, black face and black alligator strap. Unless your man already possesses watches more than double the price, the self-winding IWC Portofino Chronograph is a great introduction into the obsessive world of watches. Skullcandy Fix In-Ear Headphones

Recently, Skullcandy came out with what I believe to be the best ear bud headphones ever. Personally, I have huge issues with ear buds falling out of my ears when I'm driving, much less when I'm hiking, running, mountain biking, or snowboarding. And I hate the buds that "clamp" to the outside of your ear - they've always hurt after an extensive period of time. No worries with the Fix In-Ear, though. Skullcandy even has an illustration on their packaging of a cinderblock hanging from the ear bud's cord. Seriously, I wouldn't doubt if they were actually able to withstand the weight of one. They. Do. Not. Come. Out.

These new buds feature 10mm drivers as well as rear acoustic ports for deep bass, allowing crisp thumps to be delivered to your ear drums at volumes you probably shouldn't even be subjected to. You only live once, though, right?! There are also convenient volume control buttons much like an iPhone's ear buds, but no need to even remind yourself you own those. Skullcandy's latest are like taking a gun to a knife fight.

And because nothing looks worse than looking like a DJ walking around lost, the Fix In-Ears have a very sleek design making them appropriate even when wearing a suit. Unis Opens in Los Angeles

Back in June, I visited the Unis store in New York City, and this past Friday was the official opening of their Los Angeles location. Located on always-evolving La Brea Avenue, the LA space certainly has a much different feel than its Nolita counterpart. Ironically, the store's vibe is less surf and more architectural, which I absolutely love. The layout and its less-is-more presentation certainly facilitates a what you see is what you get impression, and the result is very easy on the eyes.

The brand's signature chinos - robust, yet soft, and readily fit like your favorite pair of jeans - hang alongside namesake woven shirts and John Smedley knits on freestanding racks lining the large white walls. Bags by Makr Carry Goods and locally-produced pieces of art are on shelves above the racks, while white platforms bearing shoes and stacks of t-shirts rest below. Similar to the original store, white cubes are in the middle of the space, which house additional Makr accessories as well as Fantastic Man and Inventory magazines. Summary: I want one of everything.

The west coast Unis store certainly has success on its radar given the store's location coupled with the service provided by its employees. Giovanni, who also assists with the label's production, and Austen were both extremely friendly and informative, so when you drop by, you are sure to be in good hands.

It's been a while since I've posted a casual shoe, and as they say, timing is everything. Today marks the release of the James Perse Suede Lace Up Court Shoe. On the shelves as the latest collaboration with SeaVees, your feet will now be surrounded by JP comfort like never before. The uppers are made from 100% brushed suede while the rubber soles make for a soft impact.

Stylistically somewhere between a Puma Clyde and a Common Projects sneaker, this style is one that can be worn with all: jeans, khakis, cords, shorts, you name it. I am absolutely enthralled with how this house utilizes its space to create such a flow between interior and exterior space. Though I feel the overall design could use more warmth - perhaps with the use of hardwood floors, or more color on the walls - I love the floor plan. If you aren't exposed to open air, you'll feel like you're outside through its many large windows. Enjoy.

Conversation: Raleigh Denim

I've written about Raleigh Denim on a couple different occasions, and yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sarah Lytvinenko, who started the Raleigh, NC-based company with her husband, Victor. In the first segment of Conversation, the below entry is just that. Sarah really had some insightful things to say business-wise, and I found out even more about the inception of their hand-made denim company. Last night, I also came across the below video filmed by the local PBS affiliate, which is really great.

Good Morning, Sarah, thank you so much for taking my call.

No problem, thank you for the interest!

As you know from our email communication, we are both NC State grads. Were you and Victor both design students?

No, I was in the School of Design, and Victor was a business student.

That sounds like a perfect combination then! Well, let's get down to it. With such a saturated market, why denim?

We actually started by responding to requests. Victor found a pair of trousers in Switzerland while traveling after college that were these no-name, grey pair of pants. He loved the fit, and wore them out. He wanted a pair of jeans that fit the same way, so he decided he would make them himself. I helped him with the pattern. So, yeah, we started making jeans for friends, and that lead to making them for local shops. A friend of a friend sent our info to Barney's and here we are!

So what would you say makes Raleigh Denim different? Is it fit, or...?

Authenticity, for starters. We had no formal training. We just knew we wanted to be really good at one thing and take it from there. It started with a pair modeled after Victor’s first pair, which is now known as our straight fit. Victor was our original men's fit model, and I became our women's fit model. From the straight fit, we have tailored that in different ways to create our other styles. We let the seat out and had a more relaxed thigh for our Work Fit for a more athletic guy. From the knee down, we took the leg in for our Slim Fit. For new fits, we use our friends as testers. My brother is notorious for ripping jeans, so he was the go-to model for our Work Fit since he's a bigger guy.

I recently covered Unionmade in San Francisco. I know Todd from having opened his 2nd store here in LA. I absolutely love the Indigo collection they've done for fall. How was that collaboration brought about? My understanding is that he bought fabric from Cone Mills and distributed it to various companies like Raleigh Denim and had you guys do what you do, which is make really great stuff. Is that accurate?

Oh, we love Todd. He's so great to work with. Yeah, basically, he got fabric from Cone here in Greensboro - I don't know if it was dead stock or not - but he supplied us with some really beautiful red-selvage indigo canvas, and we went from there. We made a special run for Unionmade in our Thin Fit and are really happy with how they turned out.

I know you have limited production and number the jeans on the back. How do you decide on how many of each to produce? I believe I noticed 200 were made for the Unionmade release.

It all depends on which style it is, but fabric availability and production timing are the main factors. We only make what we have orders for. We typically do runs of 150 to 300 pairs. For styles like Original and Nash, which are our core styles, we run them more often. For special occasions, like A-B Fits in San Francisco which recently celebrated their 20th Anniversary, we did only 20 pairs, so it was really select.

So is that how the A-B jean came about? Howard asked for something specific?

Yes, A-B Fits is a wonderful store and they've been key in supporting us from early on. When they told us about their anniversary, we were really excited to make them something special and we worked together on the denim and detailing.

Tell me a bit more about your current relationship with Barney’s.

Barney's is still our biggest account, and they've been key in helping us grow. We'd supply them with 25 pairs here, 20 pairs there and they are very flexible with how small our production is. We are selling to more small boutiques now, as well.

Speaking of boutiques, when it comes to growing the business, how would you say you go about selecting the stores in which you are sold? I realize stores must come to you knowing their customer.

We really rely on the stores to know their customer. Our main criteria is: does the shop understand what goes into our jeans? And are they friendly people to work with...that's really important.

Do you ever have to turn stores away?

We don't often turn stores away. It happens on occasion, but usually when we don't believe a shop can tell our story well.

Let's talk a bit about your store, the Curatory. How did the store come about, and how do you go about picking the lines in the store?

Well, our first space was in the back of a warehouse on the edge of town, and it was really hard to find, but people would still find us! They would show up, see that there's no windows, and it's just us, and they'd be like, "Is this the right place, or...?" Finally, Victor and I were ready not to bootstrap, found a great space in a more central part of downtown, and we wanted and needed a space for people to hang out and check out the line. Originally, we just wanted the space to be a showroom for Raleigh Denim, and then it grew into a store. Having John in the store has been great, too. He's awesome.

I walked in, and the first thing I noticed was the ceiling. I absolutely love the idea of paper airplanes hanging from the ceiling!

Thanks! I love it, too! And it's something I've always wanted to do, but never had a space for it. You wouldn't really do something like that in their house, ya know? We love it.

Why do you think raw denim, especially selvage, is so much more popular in the men's market than women's?

Our heart is in raw selvage. The men’s market is bigger because of fashion and fit. Women have a broader range of tools in their closet. They need a pair for their heels, for their flats, the days they're feeling frumpy, or even feeling active. Men...they are more likely to buy one really nice pair and wear it all the time. Raw denim is an investment. There's a process of breaking it in. And you'll go through that period when the jeans are too tight, or even too loose. Women like the sweet spot in the middle, so raw denim is more of a commitment for women. But we’ve been getting requests and we make 100% cotton, raw selvage denim for women, too.

So what’s next for Raleigh Denim?

We want to focus on the women’s line. Currently, we have 5 fits with various washes (8 styles total) and 12-15 styles for men. I'd like to see the lines approach closer to a 50/50 ratio.

Unionmade - San Francisco

If you saw my post below, you already know I spent this past weekend in San Francisco. During what was another weekend of fantastic weather, I was able to stop in (the original) Unionmade on the corner of Sanchez and 18th street near The Castro district.

I had met Unionmade's owner, Todd, previously when he opened the Los Angeles location at the Brentwood Country Mart - always a gracious host, Todd gave me a tour of the shop, including the recent expansion into the space next door, which has nearly doubled the size of the shop. Between the two stores and a great website, Unionmade carries nearly 75 different brands ranging from outerwear, shoes and accessories, to books and displaying its own apothecary, making it one hell of an offering for a men's store. I absolutely love the collaborative efforts made this season for their Unionmade Indigo campaign which includes it's own newspaper. Four releases to certainly check out are Raleigh Denim's jeans, Farm Tactics' scarf, Unis's chinos and the Stanley & Sons apron.

I'm super excited for Todd, as he is not only celebrating Unionmade's 2nd Anniversary next month, he's continuing to grow the business by opening Unionmade's third location in the Marin Country Mart. It's always great to see good things happening to good people.
